The book I read was Lone Stars by Mike Lupica. It was a realistic fiction book set in San Antonio, Texas about a teenage football player; Clay Hollis.
One game Clay was going out on a route, and he was hit hard in the head while trying to make a catch from 4/5. Lone Stars was a great read. Great story about a former pro football player and the two young kids.
Who gave of themselves to help the Coach as he battled the effects of concussion. We don't see enough of Lone Stars book going on in sports, not in life.
